Knight’s trio chosen for this summer’s VHSCA All-Star Classic

Matoaca High tennis teams jump to 4-0 starts

The boys and girls tennis teams have gotten off to their best starts in school history by beginning the season with 4-0 marks. Both squads celebrated victories last Thursday in matches against Thomas Dale. The wins mark the first time the Warriors have defeated Dale in league play.

Locals run the Monument Avenue 10k

The 11th annual Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10k was held Saturday morning under sunny skies and brisk conditions. Some 37,000 runners and walkers registered for the event, which has been recognized by Runner’s World as one of the top five road races in America. The event spans the length of one of America’s most beautiful thoroughfares, but is known more for its party atmosphere and tremendous community support for the runners and walkers.
