Yankees win CCLL Championship

Again this year Coach Darek Hathaway, Coach Drew Lasky, and Coach Steve Spears have led their Chesterfield County Little League AA NY Yankees team to win the Championships. Congratulations to the team and to the great coaches on a great season.

Varsity athletes to play at next level

Carroll missed half of his senior season with a leg injury, but was still impressive enough to catch the eye of Randolph-Macon College where he signed to play next fall. For the Warriors, The safety registered 13 tackles (nine solo) and an interception in limited action. He’ll join Meadowbrook linebacker Kane Smith as a signee for 2014.

Chester swimmer beats Mom’s record that stood 32 years

When Myra Anne Martin was two years of age, her mother, Amy Pulling-Martin taught her how to swim in the bath tub. That early start began Myra Anne’s swimming career as the 12-year-old was able to beat her mother’s record in the Chesterfield Aquatic League (CAL) in the individual medley (IM) with a time of 1:14.02.

Sports camps at L.C. Bird

L.C. Bird Basketball Camp will be held at Lloyd C. Bird High School. Campers should be prepared with a T-shirt, shorts, and basketball shoes. Campers may bring a bag lunch or purchase lunch for $3 which will include sandwich/pizza, chips/fruit and drink.

Sports camps at Thomas Dale

Thomas Dale’s first annual volleyball camp will be directed by Coach Jenna Malcom and VT coaching staff and players will specialize in technical development, individual skills, and an emphasis on team offensive and defensive strategies.
