Carol Brinkley’s passion for field hockey nets invite to play internationally

With eight minutes left in the game Carol Brinkley, on the Eastern Mennonite University team, lifted the ball into the goal over Sweet Briar College’s goalie. Brinkley’s goal was the last score of the game and gave EMU a 6-0 win over SBC.

Matoaca yields win at Homecoming

Matoaca High School celebrated their annual homecoming football game and the 50th Anniversary of the school on Friday, October 4. The celebration kicked off with an outdoor pep rally for the student body that featured a joint performance of the Woo Woos of Virginia State University and the Matoaca High cheerleaders.
