In a charter celebration held in June LaSertoma International welcomed their newest chapter into the organization, Helping Hands of Tomorrow (HHOT), a youth volunteer service organization out of Chester.
Kaitlyn Eggleston, 13, had a dream to start a volunteer service club with her friends and once she joined Hands of Hope, as the youngest member, she knew she had the tools available to make it happen. Eggleston held an informational meeting with 15 youths and their parents. Subsequent meetings brought about voting on a club name, electing officers, voting on sponsorships, and working to get their charter approved.
The youths have participated in several activities and the latest group project is to participate in the Anthem LemonAid stand on July 22 at Chester Walmart from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., to raise money for Children’s Hospital for children’s cancer.
