On July 4, Stoney Glen Subdivision held it’s 22nd Annual July 4th Parade. This tradition is led by our community firefighters, ends at the neighborhood pool and carries on throughout the day with games and fun for the entire family. We always treat our firefighters to a cook-out before they leave to go back to work.
This year, Stoney Glen had a special guest, Connor, who is 18-months old and has Stage 4 Blastoma Cancer. The neighborhood decided to do a Jump-Rope-A-Thon in his honor. Approximately 25 children participated in the Jump-Rope-A-Thon. They were asked to give a donation and jump rope for 10 minutes. The children did a great job in what ended up being a very hot day. Even Connor was there to root them on and tried to jump rope with them. A total of $495 was raised for Connor and his family. This money will be used to help the family with the many hospital bills and the endless hours they all spend on the road and at the hospital on any given week.
Stoney Glen Subdivision is very proud of their neighborhood children, who did a great job raising money for a great kid.
