Central Chesterfield Little League celebrated their opening games at Harry G. Daniels Park at Ironbridge last Saturday. Special guests, Jay Burchell of Heritage Chevrolet and Congressman Randy Forbes joined over 2,000 young players and their families at the event to kick-off their spring season.
As a sponsoring partner with the little league, Heritage Chevrolet presented a $2,000 check, as well as new equipment, monies for instructional clinics and the opportunity to raise an additional $10,000 through a Chevrolet vehicle sweepstakes through a partnership with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program during the pre-game event.
The Chevrolet program kicked off March 1, and runs through July 15, 2012.
The Central Chesterfield Little League received 10 new equipment kits complete with equipment bags, baseball buckets, whiffle balls, hitting net, batting tees and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts. The sponsorship also includes youth clinics featuring former MLB/MiLB players and coaches and instructors from Ripken Baseball.
“Youth baseball provides positive and productive life lessons for young people across America, and the Chevrolet Youth Baseball program is an extension of Chevrolet’s commitment to baseball, community and families. Heritage Chevrolet is bringing that same dedication to youth baseball,” said Burchell. “There is nothing more American than
Chevrolet and baseball, and Heritage Chevrolet wants to combine America’s favorite brand and favorite pastime together for our families in Chester to enjoy.”
