Emily Brown, of Richmond, a sophomore majoring in human development in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences, was selected to be a Hokie Camp executive board member for incoming students of Virginia Tech.
Division of Student Affairs’ New Student Programs selected eight leaders to assist and welcome the incoming class of 2015. Hokie Camp leaders work with various members of the Virginia Tech community and play a vital role in helping new students become familiar with the university.
The students selected help to organize and prepare the incoming class of Hokies through team-building activities. Hokie Camp is held in August each summer and designed to lengthen orientation for new students looking for group experiences. The program is intended for students to become accustomed to the Hokie community and give them an opportunity to meet other first-year students.
