A frightening incident occurred for two area children, and the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs the community’s help to identify and locate the suspect.
Just prior to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11, a man knocked on the door of a townhome on Natick Court in the Sturbridge Village Townhouses of Chesterfield County. When a 12-year-old child opened the door to answer it, the male forced his way into the townhome, tied up the young boy and his 10-year-old sister, and then stole televisions and gaming systems from the residence. The suspect left the scene, and, other than the initial binding, the children were not injured.
The suspect was described as a black male, 30-49 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, thin build, with a mustache and a goatee. He wore a black, satin, puffy-style coat and a black ball cap over a black do-rag. The suspect indicated that there was a second person outside, but no other suspect was seen.
