Village Bank was recently named one of the 2011 Best Places to Work in Virginia, according to a press release. The annual list of “Best Places to Work” was created by Virginia Business and Best Companies Group.
This survey and award program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Virginia, benefiting the state’s economy, its work force and businesses, the release says. The list is made up of 50 companies, which are split into three groups: 14 small employers (fewer than 100 employees), 16 mid-sized employers (100-250 employees), and 20 large employers (more than 250 employees). Village Bank is in the mid-sized category.
“Long before Village Bank opened, we knew our most important asset would be our people,” says Tom Winfree, president and chief executive officer, in the release. “We continue to believe our people are the best and the brightest in the industry and we are honored to have been chosen for this most prestigious award.”
The ranking of the first annual Best Places to Work in Virginia will be unveiled and published in the February 2011 issue of Virginia Business. For more information, visit www.BestPlacesToWorkVA.com .
