U.S. Rep. J. Randy Forbes will host a job fair with area businesses in Chesterfield County on Wednesday, Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lloyd C. Bird High School, according to a press release. The job fair is free and open to all constituents who are interested in learning about available jobs with area businesses.
In addition to meeting with area businesses, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with experts on resume writing, interviewing and job searching, as well as get information on available apprenticeships.
“In these challenging economic times, it is my hope that this event will provide a forum for employers and potential employees to learn about opportunities that are available in our region as we continue to work to create financial stability for citizens of Virginia’s Fourth Congressional District,” Forbes says in the release.
Area employers scheduled to participate include: Verizon, Rolls-Royce, Food Lion Distributors, U.S. Secret Service, Virginia State Police, Chesterfield County Government, Chesterfield County Police Department and Central State Hospital.
Registration is required and attendees may register online at http://forbesjobfairchesterfield.eventbrite.com [2] or by calling Forbes’ Colonial Heights office at 526-4969. Attendees should be prepared to bring their resumes and letters of reference.
Employers who are interested in obtaining a booth at the job fair must register with Forbes’ office. For more information on employer registration, contact District Representative Ron White, Constituent Services Representatives Joan Fallon or Meghann Medici at 526-4969.
