Thomas Dale alum and current Florida State softball pitcher Lacey Waldrop is a finalist for the 2014 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. The announcement was made May 27, after press deadline. Waldrop and the Seminoles have already enjoyed an excellent season with hopefully more to come. Florida State is currently in the College World Series after winning the ACC Championship and the Tallahassee Regional. As of press time, Waldrop has amassed a 38-5 record this year with 1.01 earned run average, striking out 282 batters in 257 innings. Opponents bat just .184 against her.
