The Woman’s Club of Chester board members are gearing up for their monthly meeting in November with everything planned around the arts. Along with arranging plans for their meeting, they are in the process of procuring a resolution from Chesterfield County declaring November as “Cultural Arts Month.”
The November 4 club meeting for its members and guests is dedicated to Youth Art and will display art from Ecoff and C.C.Wells elementary schools. While enjoying a covered-dish dinner, Marty Finn, a piano student at Music Studies Unlimited, will perform.
The Woman’s Club of Chester is one of the founding members of the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation. The club has been an active advocate for the arts in the Chester community and have contributed more than $45,000 towards the foundation’s project which involves the completion of the Chesterfield Center for the Arts; a center where cultural arts will be readily available to the community including performing, visual, education, conferences and more. The club has also been actively involved in providing bi-monthly receptions for artists exhibiting at the Chester Library.
The club will be involved with the foundation when the foundation kicks off an aggressive capital campaign, November 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chester Library, to raise the $2 million in pledges or cash by August 2014, for the County to issue the $7.5 million in bonds by a November 2014 deadline.
The Woman’s Club of Chester November 4 meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Chester Baptist Church located at 4017 School St.
