Village News included an article this week on the vehicle title lender proposed for two locations on Jefferson Davis Highway in Chester. One would be located in the Panera Bread building, the other on the corner of Jeff Davis Hwy. and Osborne Rd. The Virginia Poverty Law Center weighs in (click here to hear opinion.) 
The alternative lender can charge as much as 220 percent and the business are called predatory lenders. The conditional-use permit application will go before the Board of Supervisors on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Meeting Room at the Chesterfield County Complex. The meeting room is in the same building as the Police Dept.
There are two other title lender proposed and will be voted on the same evening. Both on the east part of Midlothian Turnpike.
