Fire and medical personnel from Centralia, Dutch Gap, Bensley and Dale fire stations along with county police were dispatched to the emergency. One vehicle had heavy front end damage and a pickup truck had heavy rear and body damage. County rescue personnel extricated the trapped and injured occupants from the vehicles. County police handled traffic and crowd control and assisted firefighters while the injured were rescued. County police are investigating the crash.

Sirens wailed from incoming fire trucks, as firefighters and medical personnel quickly responded to a call for help in the Winchester Green apartments as flames ripped through a townhouse apartment on May 14. Rescuers from DLA (DSCR federal fighters), and county firefighters from Centralia, Bensley and Dale fire stations responded to the 7200 block of Cherry Hill Park Avenue for a fire. Also on scene, a tactical safety officer, two battalion chiefs, two fire marshals and county police. “Crews arriving on scene saw fire coming from the front of the two- story, single family dwelling.” said Lt. Jason Elmore of Chesterfield Fire and EMS. “Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack.” Eight people, including two children were displaced, Elmore said. Damage estimates are $28,000, fire officials said. The fire started outside at a back deck, Elmore explained, but the cause has not been determined. A total of three townhouses were damaged by smoke and fire. The Red Cross assisted the residents.
Driver Education vehicle involved in collision
One person was transported to a hospital after a vehicle collision in the 6400 block of Iron Bridge Road on May 17 around 6:30 p.m. Fire and medical personnel from Dale Fire Station along with county police responded to the emergency. The crash is under investigation.
