Firefighters were dispatched for a house fire on April 16 in the 18500 block of Rollingside Drive at 4:22 p.m. Crews went to work battling the fire that was burning the exterior rear of the home, while another firefighter got the family dog safely out of the house. Fire and medical personnel from Ettrick, Matoaca and Chester fire stations, along with a tactical safety officer and a battalion chief responded to the emergency. Residents were not home at the time, Elmore said. The cause is under investigation.
Two residents displaced by house fire
Two residents have been displaced from their home in the 3400 block of Summerbrooke Road after a fire broke out April 16 around 8:30 p.m. Fire and medical personnel from Manchester, Courthouse, Manchester at Courthouse and Buford fire stations were dispatched to the emergency. Two battalion chiefs, a tactical safety officer and a fire marshal were also on scene. Crews arrived on scene to find fire showing from the rear of the home, Elmore explained. The residents had self evacuated. Firefighters entered the home quickly and extinguished the blaze. The cause is under investigation.
