Police have arrested two men in relation to several recent robberies in Chesterfield County.
At about 7 p.m. on Monday, April 22, two men robbed the Exxon at 701 Bermuda Hundred Road. No one was injured in that incident. A few minutes later, in the area of the Interstate 95 and Chippenham Parkway interchange, police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the truck in which the robbery suspects had fled. The two men in the truck, Randall S. Denny, 21, and Sammy W. Staples, 26, matched the description of the robbery suspects.
Denny, of the 400 block of N. Mooreland Road in Richmond, and Staples, of 14300 block of Santell Drive in Chester, were charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a felony in relation to Monday's robbery. They have also been charged in relation to:
- The robbery of the CITGO at 2730 E. Hundred Road on April 15;
- The robbery of the CITGO at 8701 Iron Bridge Road on April 19;
- A larceny of cash from the Jefferson Express at 16638 Jefferson Davis Highway on April 21.
Denny and Staples are being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.
