The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield thanked one of its founding volunteers on Thursday, Feb. 14 at Riptides Seafood Restaurant in Chester.
Anne Dallmeyer began volunteering with The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield in 2001 and personally answered over 1,660 phone calls from clients needing critical transportation. She volunteered over 1,140 hours to serve clients over the years.
The Shepherd’s Center has an urgent need for volunteer drivers for transportation to urgent medical appointments and grocery shopping.
You can help by offering a few hours of your time to provide a ride. The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield, a non-profit interfaith organization, offers transportation, in-home handyman services, and low-cost classes to adults over 50.
Volunteer drivers are desperately needed to continue providing transportation in the area. A driver can make a difference in the community by volunteering only a couple of hours a month. The Center is particularly in need of drivers in the following areas: Chesterfield, Hopewell, Prince George, and Chester.
Become a part of a close-knit volunteer community; you may need their help someday, too. Call The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield at 706-6689 or go to www.shepctrchesterfield.org for more information.
