Part of the St John’s Episcopal Church Ministry is their recent “Grateful, Glad and Giving” program.
As the close to the initiative, the church held a health fair. Approximately 50 to 100 folks enjoyed the mini health fair that included more than 10 exhibits and service booths.
One such booth was the Ripple Effect Therapeutic Massage. Melanie Scruton, owner, gave free massages and shared her experience with all. “It’s a good chance to share my talents,” she said.
Kate Nosbisch organized the event for the church. “We have initiatives we work on each month,” Nosbisch said. ”It’s a part of our outreach programs for our small congregation.” The fair included Chester Family Chiropractic, The Cardiac Connection, The Herb Basket, Gilliam & Evan, P.L.C. and J.T. Morriss Funeral Home, to name a few.
There were door prizes from American Family Fitness and Whole Foods, among others. The focus on healthy heart and improving health was a part of the church’s larger gratitude programs. The congregation also kept gratitude journals, and are working on prayer gatherings with homeless individuals as part of their outreach programs.
