For high school seniors, the process of finding and applying for financial aid can be a lot to handle. Sometimes, the most challenging part can be finding the time to successfully fill out the application and to gather all the necessary supporting documents. But it’s important for students to be aware of what needs to be accomplished and to find the time to meet those scholarship deadlines.
Each year, the John Randolph Foundation awards dozens of scholarships to students from the Tri-Cities area who are intent on pursuing higher education. This year, the total of these awards tops $65,000 and students will vie for scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.
It’s easy to apply. All the selection criteria, application and instructions can be found on the John Randolph Foundation website at www.johnrandolphfoundation.org [2]. Some scholarships have geographic criteria, others have a preference for field of study, and almost all have a financial need requirement. But no matter how many scholarships you qualify for, you only need to submit one application.
The application is completely electronic; however, all of the required attachments must be mailed or hand-delivered to the foundation’s office at P.O. Box 1606, 112 N. Main St., Hopewell, VA 23860.
