The Skyhawks rode the Rapids 42-6 in Dominion District action last Friday night. Terrance Ervin was 5/6 passing for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Paul Robertson rushed for 57 yards and a score.
Lionel Williams and Jaylan Lassiter added rushing touchdowns for Bird and wide receivers Rasheed Worsham and Shawn Payne were on the receiving end of Ervin’s touchdown throws.
Defense continued to be a strong point for Bird as they have allowed just one yard rushing in the fourth quarter through four games.
The Skyhawks advanced to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Dominion District. Bird hosts Cosby this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in an important district match-up.

D.J. Reid led the way with 167 yards and a touchdown for the Knights as they defeated Matoaca 34-7 in Central District action.
The Warriors trailed by just five points at the half, but 22 unanswered points by Dale and a stifling defensive effort allowed the Knights to cruise in the second half.
Quarterback/Wide Receiver John Ford rushed for 44 yards and a score and caught two passes for 18 yards as a score. Quarterback A.J. Holliday threw two touchdown passes and senior linebacker Aaron Green registered 14 tackles to lead the defense.
Thomas Dale is now 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Central District, while Matoaca fell to 1-3 and 0-2 in the Central District. Dale hosts Hopewell this Friday at 7 p.m. and Matoaca travels to Colonial Heights for a 7 p.m. kick-off.
