Suspicious deaths, stabbing keep police busy

The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were discovered in the 3000 block of Rycliff Avenue. Police are also investigating a stabbing of two people at a residence in the 4900 block of Brickhaven Drive.

At 5:30 p.m. on September 14, police received a call of a female lying between two vehicles in the driveway of a residence.  She has been identified as Donna Cheatham of Chase City, Va. A deceased male was located in the residence. He has been identified as David Brogdon and resided at the residence. Both parties suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

At this time police are not searching for any other subjects in connection to these deaths, which appear to be a domestic related murder-suicide.

At 4:30 a.m. on September 15, police received an open line 911 call from the residence.  Upon arrival officers located a female suffering from knife wounds. They then encountered a male exiting the residence. The male also suffered knife wounds. Both parties were transported to the VCU Medical Center where they were treated for life threatening wounds.  

Police are not searching for any other people in connection to this incident.  The incident appears to be a domestic related attempt murder-attempt suicide.
