Tractor is restored for high school engineering project

A junior at L.C. Bird High School in the engineering program decided to restore an antique John Deere tractor. Connor Linton needed a junior seminar project and had to get the project approved and it has taken a full year.

“I started on it last summer to complete it in time for the county fair,” Linton said. The tractor will be presented at the fair at the Chesterfield Tractor Club tent.  He and his partner John Harro worked on the project together and they received an “A” for the project. Although they are still working on the project, Linton said it went through full restoration being taken apart from the top to bottom, cleaned up, repaired and painted, all in his back yard.

Linton also received a donation from Titan tractor tire for two brand new tires for the rear that are valued at $900 each.
