A challenging program that gives students the opportunity to earn two verified credits before entering their ninth-grade year. Over 70 students are participating in the program at Meadowbrook High School. According to Matt Bland, Success Program coordinator, the Meadowbrook High School Success program is expanding for the school year 2012-2013. He said, “So far, we have over 200 rising ninth-graders enrolled in the program and we expect to add 40 to 50 more students during the school year.”
The summer program, Jumpstart to Success,
is a component of the Success Program. Seventy-three rising ninth-graders enrolled in the six-week summer program, “Academic Bootcamp.” Students earn two verified credits in World History I and Earth Science upon successful completion of the camp. The classes were a “hybrid” curriculum involving teacher instruction and online support.Students were also required to attend after-school sessions, including Friday SOL prep sessions. All other schools are closed on Friday
