A community group gathered at the office of Cambridge Construction to discuss a strip-center adjacent to the Flagstop Carwash on Iron Bridge Road just south of the Chesterfield Meadows Shopping Center. According to the planning commission report the strip-center is proposed to be 20,000 square feet on 2.4 acres. The case will most likely be deferred for 60 days due to transportation issues and setback problems. These are issues that the developer will have to work out with the county.
According to county documents, “there is not sufficient depth to the property to allow for a quality site design and required site improvements… the property should be aggregated with adjacent property to the east to provide an adequate developable area and appropriate transitions.”
The property is being readied for sale to two developers, according to one attendee at the meeting. The Bermuda District’s Planning Commissioner, Dale Patton, was also in attendance.
