The 34th Annual Central Virginia Dart Association (CVDA) Dart Classic was held June 8-10, at the Holiday Inn - Koger Center, as a fund raiser for Children’s Hospital in Richmond. As an American Dart Organization sanctioned event, nearly 200 darters participated in the event, some traveling from as far away as Massachusetts and New York.
The money raised for Children’s Hospital of Richmond from this year’s tournament has yet to be totaled. Last year, the CVDA raised $7,000, with nearly $80,000 raised over the years.
The tournament paid out $11,000 in prizes for events including Blind Draws, Singles, Doubles, Mixed Trips and several youth events.
MVPs (Most Valuable Players) for the weekend tournament were Larry Butler and Marilyn Popp, both ranked 2nd nationally in men’s and women’s divisions, respectively.
