VSU offers activities for all ages this summer

Virginia State University is offering several free programs, as well as programs with a small fee, during the summer months from June 20 through July 28, for children seven through the senior year. 

Following are programs that may still be available for enrollment beginning June 24.

June 24 – July 7   
Future of You, Imagine. 15 yr. old – rising sophomore or junior.  An in-dept learning and mentoring experience for high school students in under-served communities. Contact Paula McCapers at 524-5839.

June 25 – June 28  
Boy’s Basketball Camp. 7-16 yrs. Fee $100.  Contact Darryl Jacobs at 524-5029.

June 25 – June 29
A-STEM Nanotechnology. Middle and High School students and teachers. To encourage and motivate students to consider future A-STEM careers.  Free. Contact Dr. Godwin Mbagwu or Dr. Grace Ndip at 524-5438.

June 29
Baseball Camp. 10-16 yrs. Free.  Contact Merrill Morgan at 524-5816.

June 29
Softball Camp. 10-16 yrs. Free. Contact Torrie Lashley at 524-5704.

July 16 – July 19
Volleyball Camp. All Ages. $40 Contact Ivana Rich at 524-5027.

July 21-28
G.R.O.W.S. (Gaining Real Opportunities with Students. Rising Seniors. A week-long teacher preparation residential program designed to encourage students to apply to Virginia State University and commit to enrolling in the teacher education program. Free. Contact Shandra Claiborne at 524-5196.
