Cadet Kennedy graduates Coast Guard Academy

Chester native graduates from the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn. Cadet First Class Thomas M. Kennedy, will be one of 233 cadets to graduate Wednesday, from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine and Environmental Science.

During commencement exercises, graduates of the Class of 2012 receive their commission as ensigns in the U.S. Coast Guard from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

A 2008 graduate of Maggie Walker High School, Kennedy is the son of Thomas Kennedy and Betty Bauman, both of Chester.
Kennedy’s first tour of duty will be a on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Active, based in Port Angeles, Wa.
