Dance companies from universities throughout Virginia and North Carolina will convene on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m., in the Thomas Dale High School main auditorium, for “Gather: an Evening of Dance.” The show is the culminating event of the third annual High School Dance Symposium. Hosted by Thomas Dale’s Specialty Center for the Arts, the symposium offers the Richmond community an opportunity to experience collegiate dance at its finest. Dancers from James Madison, Virginia Commonwealth, Radford, Shenandoah, and Old Dominion universities will join those from University of Virginia and University of North Carolina at Greensboro to share their talent onstage. The two day symposium is open to all high school dancers by pre-registration, and the 8 p.m. performance, “Gather,” is open to the public. Tickets are $10, available at the door. Admission is free to Senior Citizens and children 5 & under. For more information, contact Denise Purvis at firstname.lastname@example.org or 768-6245, extension 6697.
