Chesterfield County is just short of announcing who will be locating a huge distribution center at Meadowville Technology Park in Enon. For now, there is no official word on who will be the owner of the 1.1-million-square-foot facility, which would be comparable in size to a little over seven Walmarts. The site plan also shows 2,800 parking spaces.
The site plan has been fast tracked, according to Senior Planner Allan Coker. He said much of the site plan review is completed. Coker also said that the description on the site plan application does not indicate who the occupant of the distribution center may be.
A site plan for road improvements, which are needed for access to the site located off Meadowville Technology Parkway, has also been submitted and fast tracked.
Northop Grumman is currently the only business located on the 1,300 acre technology park.
There’s plenty of speculation about which company will be located in the enormous building. According to a story on BizSense.com, commercial real estate brokers have been abuzz about who will occupy the facility. Amazon, the Internet seller who offers books and everything else you need, has been at the top of the list of those who are venturing a guess as to who will be attending the groundbreaking of the massive project.
