Bravo!Awards presented to outstanding CCPS alumni

The Chesterfield Public Education Foundation honored its third class of outstanding alumni from Chesterfield County Public Schools during the Bravo!Awards gala dinner at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond held November 10.

Pictured are the award winners  John Baskerville Jr., lieutenant colonel, U.S. Army, L.C. Bird High School, Class of 1984; Kelly Cherry, literary author and poet, Manchester High School, Class of 1957 – The Poet Laureate of Virginia for 2010 and 2011; William Henderson, retired NFL fullback, Green Bay Packers, Thomas Dale High School, Class of 1986; Sean Marshall, National League pitcher, Chicago Cubs, Manchester High School, Class of 2000;  Kevin Page, director of rail transportation, Virginia Department of Rail & Public Transportation, Manchester High School, Class of 1982; and Kellee Santiago, video game designer and producer, thatgamecompany, Clover Hill High School, Class of 1997.

Proceeds from the dinner go to the foundation, which supports CCPS programs, including the From Crayons to Computers teachers’ store, Communities In Schools-Chesterfield, teacher enrichment classes, student scholarships and more. The foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1989.
