Whether you are a first-time college student, want to finish the college education you put on hold, are interested in exploring your interests, or want to become more competitive in the job market by learning new skills, John Tyler has the classes and programs you need to achieve your goals. The college offers day, evening, weekend, online and hybrid (taught partially online and partially in the classroom) courses that are designed to give you the flexibility you need to balance family, work and classes. We also know money matters. Tuition and fees at John Tyler are about one third the tuition and fees charged at a four-year public college or university in Virginia. And, thanks to guaranteed transfer agreements, John Tyler associate degree graduates who wish to continue their education and who meet certain criteria are able to seamlessly transfer to more than 25 four-year colleges and universities in Virginia where they can finish their bachelor’s degrees.
Registration for John Tyler Community College’s Spring 2012 semester gets underway November 7, 2011, and runs through January 6, 2012. A complete list of classes may be found online at www.jtcc.edu/schedule. Students already enrolled at the college may register online using the Student Information System found at www.jtcc.edu/myTyler. They also may register in person at either the Chester Campus, located at 13101 Jefferson Davis Highway, or the Midlothian Campus, located at 800 Charter Colony Parkway. In-person registration will not be available from December 23, 2011.
January 2, 2012. During that time, Holiday Online Registration will be held. Students will be able to register online only at www.jtcc.edu/myTyler.
Tuition and fees are $119 per credit hour for Virginia residents and $310.60 per credit hour for out-of-state residents. All students must pay a comprehensive fee of $25. All tuition and fees are due by 5 p.m. on the Friday of the week in which a student registers. (NOTES: Students who register November 21 – 22, 2011 must pay their tuition and fees by 5 p.m. on November 22. Students who register December 19 – 22, 2011 must pay their tuition and fees by 5 p.m. on December 22. Students who register during the College’s Holiday Online Registration period must pay their tuition and fees by 5 p.m. on January 3, 2012.)
Individuals interested in attending John Tyler but not enrolled at the college must first submit an application for admission. Those who applied to the college but did not attend classes in the past year must reapply to John Tyler. The application for admission may be found online at www.jtcc.edu, or it may be picked up at the Chester or Midlothian campuses. There is no application fee.
John Tyler Community College is a two-year, public institution of higher education and is the fifth largest of the 23 community colleges in Virginia.
