Matoaca fashion department gets hands-on experience

October was a busy month for Matoaca High Fashion Merchandising students and their teacher Heather Viar. Field trip opportunities provided the students with hands on opportunities to learn about the industry for the experts. Advanced Fashion students visited Stony Point for their visual merchandising project on Thursday, October 6th where they gained insight into the importance of visual merchandising in the fashion industry and prepared for their visual merchandising projects. October 25th found Fashion I students ready for their field trip to Nordstrom for a management presentation.  The Fashion I students learned many important facts about management and merchandising while gaining insight into the role of store personnel in today‚Äôs retail environment.
