Chesterfield Classic Equestrians Club compete in state championship

Seven members of the Chesterfield Classic Equestrians 4-H Club competed at the 50th Virginia State 4-H Championship Horse and Pony Show Sept. 15-18, in Lexington.

Caitlin Schoemmell, who rode How Do You Like Me Now, came in fourth place in the senior dressage training level test 1, and came in ninth place in senior dressage training level test 2. She was also a hunter trail-class qualifier.

Carys Fowler, who rode Miss Inquisitive Doc, was the champion dressage junior showmanship with a second place finish in junior dressage intro test C; she finished second place in junior dressage training level test 2, and third in junior dressage equitation and eighth in dressage equitation classic.

Alia Fagerburg, who rode Fancy Pants, finished as the champion hunter small/medium pony with a first place finish in junior/senior hunter small/medium pony over fences course A; she finished fourth place in junior/senior hunter small/medium pony over fences course B, and sixth place in senior small/medium pony equitation over fences; as well as sixth place in junior/senior hunter small/medium pony under saddle.

Mackenzie Jones, who rode Skippa My Heart, was the reserve champion dressage junior showmanship with a sixth place finish in dressage equitation junior; she finished eighth in dressage equitation classic, ninth place in junior dressage intro test C, and ninth place junior dressage training level test 1.

Sydney Charbonneau, who rode Bandit Stole My Heart, was the reserve champion hunter pleasure small horse with a first place in junior pleasure small horse; she finished in fourth place in junior pleasure small horse, first place in junior small horse hunter equitation on the flat and third junior hunt seat equitation classic.

Sophie Mower, who rode Bailey’s Irish Cream, finished in ninth place in senior small horse equitation on the flat, and ninth place in senior intermediate hunter under saddle.

Lauren Gaines, who rode Starry After Midnight, finished second place in senior small horse equitation on the flat, and seventh place in senior intermediate hunter under saddle.
