Police arrest bank robbery suspect

Police have arrested a man in connection with the July 29 robbery of the Bank of McKenney branch at 6300 River Road.

Police said a man approached a teller at about 1:20 p.m. on Friday, July 29, and passed a note demanding money. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, leaving the scene in the grey, older model sedan. No weapon was displayed during the incident, and no one was injured.

On July 29, police obtained a warrant for robbery for Robert D. Campbell, of no permanent address, in relation to the incident. Police, working closely with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, took Campbell into custody on Thursday, Aug. 18, in Littleton, N.C.
