Cadets help Wounded Warriors

Earlier this school year, cadets from Thomas Dale High School assisted Wounded Warriors from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center at the 60th Annual Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Convention in Washington, D.C.  Cpl. Jeremy Stengel, USMC, and Spc. Nathan Shumaker, USA, and his wife were escorted through the numerous displays at the George Catlett Marshall Memorial Reception and later were ushered to the dinner that followed.  Thomas Dale’s JROTC program began in 2002, according to information from Lt. Col. Samuel A. McNabb.  According to AUSA, Thomas Dale is the only Junior ROTC program in the nation that attends the reception and dinner, and has done so since 2005.
