Ettrick/Matoaca Memorial Day service

The Ettrick-Matoaca Historical Society remembered seven young men from Ettrick and 13 young men from Matoaca on May 29, holding separate memorial ceremonies in the two villages. Five Ettrick WWII veterans and nearly 35 former residents of Ettrick at Fire Station 12 on Chesterfield Avenue attended the service.  Lt. Col. Richard Pope III spoke at both services about the value of the military since 1776 and how today’s military would not be here without the WWII veterans.  Philip Harp played taps also for both services also.
