Teens charged in counterfeit money case

Chesterfield County Police have charged two teens at Thomas Dale High School in relation to a case involving the manufacture and use of counterfeit money.

On May 18, police received information that a student may have used a counterfeit bill to make a purchase in the school cafeteria. During the investigation into the incident, a female student was identified as having passed the counterfeit bill on May 17.  As the investigation continued, a male student was identified as the one responsible for manufacturing the money.  

Police have charged the 17-year-old male with manufacturing counterfeit money and the 16-year-female with uttering a counterfeit bill.
