Man arrested after firing gun in residence

Police arrested a man Monday after he fired a gun inside a residence during a domestic argument. Police were called to the 6400 block of Cosmic Road in Regency Lake Apartments at about 10 a.m. on Monday, May 9. Police said Jerrick Davis, 25, fired a gun in the residence during a domestic argument with another resident of the apartment.

The shot struck a pit bull puppy and shattered a sliding glass door. The dog was taken to a veterinarian, where it was treated and released.

Davis was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm inside an occupied dwelling, domestic assault, cruelty to animals, reckless handling of a firearm, preventing a person from summoning police and vandalism.
