Math students excel at Matoaca

The Virginia Math League contest is a challenging six-question, 30-minute contest administered six times throughout the school year. The goal of the contest is to encourage student interest and confidence in mathematics through solving worthwhile problems. Students compete for the highest scores and our school competes for the highest team scores (the sum of the top five scores in the school). The contest began in October and concluded in March and involved math students and teachers across the school. Matoaca High is proud to announce our top three students for the 2010-11 school year: first place Austin Akins, second place Melissa Skoff and third place Ryan Clapman. These students will receive gift certificates and will be recognized during their grade-level assemblies.
