2010 Thomas Dale graduate Billy Cullen has gotten his college baseball career at VCU off to a flying start. Primarily a pitcher for the Knights, Cullen has stepped into the role of starting left fielder for the Rams. Through the season’s first 10 games, Cullen has a .289 batting average and .391 on base percentage. In addition to his 11 base hits, Billy leads the team in both bases on balls and runs scored. In addition, Cullen has been flawless defensively.
Joining Cullen on the roster is former L.C. Bird standout, Jonathan Watson. Watson has emerged as the Ram’s closer. He has appeared in seven games, carrying a fine 2.45 ERA. Jonathan has tallied three saves and a victory in the young season.
The Rams play their home games at the Diamond, with the big weekend series coming up versus James Madison and Old Dominion.
