26 Chesterfield schools earn VIP awards

Several area schools were among the 26 Chesterfield schools that were recently honored with Virginia Index of Performance awards, according to information from the school system.
Among the 13 Chesterfield schools that earned the Board of Education Excellence Award were: Bensley Elementary, Beulah Elementary and Gates Elementary. Statewide, 323 schools won this award.
Among the nine Chesterfield schools that earned the next award, the Board of Education Competence to Excellence Award, were: Curtis Elementary, Enon Elementary, Harrowgate Elementary, Matoaca Elementary, Elizabeth Scott Elementary and Wells Elementary. Statewide, 289 schools won this award.
