Local man turns self into police

Lamar Gregg, who was wanted by police on multiple charges, including assault on an officer and fleeing from police, since Thursday, was in custody Saturday, according to information from police. Gregg, 32, turned himself in to authorities Saturday afternoon and was being held in the Chesterfield County Jail without bond, police said.

Gregg, of the 7600 block of Drexelbrook Road in Chesterfield, was stopped by police Thursday night on Chippenham Parkway at around 8:30. During the encounter, Gregg assaulted an officer and sped away, leading police on a short pursuit that ended on Ridgedale Parkway.

Gregg fled on foot, but a passenger in his car, Devon Riley, 30, of the 3900 block of Darcy Lane in Chesterfield, was arrested on drug and obstruction charges. A large quantity of marijuana was recovered by officers.

Six warrants for Lamar Gregg included possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, assault on an officer and eluding police. Gregg was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday.
