On Wednesday, Jan. 5, Chesterfield County Administrator Jay Stegmaier announced the appointment of Louis G. Lassiter as assistant county administrator, a press release says.
The county conducted an executive recruitment, attracting 35 highly qualified candidates, the release says. This followed Marilyn Cole’s announcement of her retirement from that position, which she held for the past 18 years.
Lassiter brings 25 years of public-service experience to the position, including 18 years as director of the Chesterfield County Internal Audit Department. Lassiter has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management information systems from James Madison University.
Lassiter will lead the staff and manage the daily operations of the county administrator’s office and provide support and assistance to the Board of Supervisors.
