The probability of a golfer, under normal circumstances, recording a hole-in-one during a playing career is extremely low. Yet, Colonial Heights Senior Golf Association members have recorded three this season – a phenomenal number, especially in light of the fact that the average age of members is somewhere north of 70, according to information from Bob Shrader.
The latest ace was recorded by Buddy Edens, a member since 1993, who guided a 5-iron shot into the cup on the 145-yard third hole at the Prince George Golf Club on July 27, Shrader said. Holes-in-one were also achieved earlier in the season by David Hughes and Donald Pond.
