Residents jump, waitress to raise money for MS

Area residents are working to raise money for the National MS Society and its 32-mile walk to Williamsburg in September, according to information from Stacy Chisholm, team captain of Team 4Strong.

Chisholm’s daughter, Holland, held a Jump-Rope-A-Thon on Sunday, July 4, at the Stoney Glen subdivision pool to raise money for the National MS Society, according to information from Chisholm. Each child was sponsored by a family member or friend and had to jump rope for 30 minutes. Because it was so hot outside that day, they didn’t last 30 minutes, Chisholm says, but they gave it a good effort. They raised a total of $178 for MS and Team 4Strong, she says.

Also, the team is waitressing at Howlett’s Restaurant and Tavern on Sunday, Aug. 1, for brunch. All tips will go toward Team 4Strong’s fundraising efforts and bring it closer to its $9,000 goal, Chisholm says.
