Back-To-School: A new school year starts Sept. 2

The Chesterfield County Public Schools website posted updated news last month for the 2014-2015 school year. With the new school year starting in a little more than three weeks the site listed important dates in the 2014-15 calendar for Chesterfield County Public Schools:

  • Classes begin Sept. 2, the first Tuesday after Labor Day, and ends June 12.
  • Nov. 4 is a parent-teacher conference day.
  • Thanksgiving break is Nov. 26-28.
  • Winter break is Dec. 22-Jan. 2.
  • Spring break is April 6-10.
  • Students will be dismissed three hours early on seven days to provide teachers professional development time (Sept. 24, Oct. 29, Feb. 25 and March 25) and work time (April 3 and June 11-12).

The 2014-15 calendar has been available online since January at http://mychesterfieldschools.com/schools/calendars/. No dates have changed since the calendar was adopted, but there has been an update in the report card information included with the calendar: Interim report cards for grades 3-5 will now be printed, rather than made available online.
