Thomas Dale High School student, Noah Harrison, was chosen as one of the outstanding students from across the nation to take part in a unique leadership development experience at the National Young Leaders Conference (NYLC): Skills in Leadership for Change, an Envision program, which takes place in Washington, D.C., and serves as a living classroom, empowering young scholars to emerge as influential voices in their communities, states and even at national level. Noah will have the opportunity to meet with members of Congress on Capitol Hill, take part in an exclusive press panel with national news reporters, and explore many future careers in public service fields.
According to Marguerite Regan, Ph.D., dean of academic affairs for the National Young Leaders Conference, “The seven-day conference helps scholars build leadership skills and strategies that are critical for leaders in the 21st century.” “The program will help students learn skills and art of standing out from the crowd in any profession, including networking, social media management, communications, conflict resolution and self-promotion.”
The National Young Leaders Conference is part of the Envision family programs, which enable students of all ages to explore their interests and gain learning experiences beyond the classroom. Since 1985, Envision programs have served more than 800,000 students in more than 145 countries, with programs designed to help students develop the leadership, scholarship and career skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive college and career landscape.
