Tracy Cole receives awards

Tracy Cole, a rising senior management major in the Luter School of Business at Christopher Newport University, was named a recipient of a GEICO Achievement Award for 2014. 

Ms. Cole received $1,000 award recognizing her dedication to academic success, leadership and service. 

In addition, Tracy is a recipient of a Dominion Diversity Scholarship for 2014-2015.  The scholarship program assists students in achieving their fullest potential by providing a $5,000 scholarship and a paid summer internship which allows students to develop their skills by working side-by-side with corporate professionals, learning new skills and sampling new technologies involved in the energy industry. In addition to strong academics and leadership activities, the scholarship required interviews and an essay. Tracy’s summer internship is with Dominion Resources Service, Inc. in Richmond.

A Dean’s List student, Tracy participates in the President’s Leadership Program and has fulfilled the requirements for a leadership minor.  She was recently inducted into Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, and Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society.  Tracy is a 2011 graduate of L. C. Bird High School and is the daughter of Terry and Penny Cole, of Chester.
