Chester farmer’s market overlooked

To the Editor:

I picked up a free copy of the May/June 2014 edition of the Chesterfield Living magazine this week. A typically delightful magazine that I enjoy viewing.  This edition had a feature article on Farmers’ Markets.  It caught my eye and was eager to get home to read what they had wrote on the topic.

The article talked about the Lakeside Farmers’ Market in Richmond, the 17th Street Market in Richmond, the South of the James Market in Richmond, the Short Pump Town Center Farmers Market in Richmond and the Ashland Farmers Market in Ashland!  I am curious, has the Editor of Chesterfield Living magazine ever heard of a place called Chesterfield?

I mean we have a very good farmers market held every Saturday on the Village Green in Chester. Though Chesterfield Living didn’t think it of worth mentioning; let me. An array of fresh vegetables, many locally grown, can be purchased every Saturday. You can also score grass fed beef and free range chicken and pork and farm fresh eggs.  Also available is and assortment of bedding plant started right here in Chesterfield County.  Throw in fresh locally prepared bake goods, kitchen ware, and jewelry and we in Chesterfield have a market worth visiting and a market we Chesterfield residents can be proud.  Too bad the Editor at Chesterfield Living didn’t deem our farmers market worth mentioning.
