Memorial Day traffic safety and click it or ticket enforcement campaign continues through June 1

The Chesterfield County Police Department has stepped up countywide patrols as part of the Memorial Day holiday and the national Click It or Ticket campaign.

Police remind motorists to use safe driving habits, wear a seat belt and secure children in child safety seats every time they get behind the wheel. The police will be conducting DUI patrols and checkpoints during the Click It or Ticket campaign.

Officers will conduct a number of high-visibility enforcement operations through June 1.  Drivers who are stopped for other violations will be ticketed if they are not wearing a seat belt. Also, drivers can be ticketed if anyone under the age of 18 is not wearing a seat belt or is not properly secured in a child safety seat.
